Congressional Challenger Withdraws
The race for Congressman Bart Stupak’s seat in Washington has one less contender tonight.
Connie Saltonstall of Charlevoix has backed out.
Saltonstall says she believes the Michigan Democratic Party leadership has thrown its support behind someone else.
She says the group is backing Democratic State Representative Gary McDowell from Rudyard.
On the Republican side, Crystal Falls doctor Dan Benishek, McMillan attorney Linda Goldthorpe and Traverse City-area State Senator Jason Allen are in the running.
