Changes Brewing at ABC 10

As you saw if you joined us at 5:30 tonight, there’ve been a few changes here at ABC 10.

First, a new name.

After 6 years, UGN News — the Upper Great Lakes News Network — is a thing of the past.

Crews changed out the studio backdrop over the weekend for a whole new look.

We’ve renamed our newscasts at 5:30 and 11pm to ABC 10 News Now.

That means we’ve re-arranged the flow of the traditional newscast.

We’ll do that with 10 minutes of non-stop news at the top of the show.

Finally, there’s also a new face.

Cynthia Thompson is our new news director, and a big part of that job will be to bring you our 5:30pm newscast.

She’s new to ABC 10, but not new to the broadcast world, having worked in radio and television jobs over the last couple of decades.

Kristina Kuestner will still be here for the 11pm newscast, as well as for our 10pm newscast, which we’re now calling CW 5 News Now.

All this week, we’ll have more about these changes.

We’ll introduce you to our new station manager here at ABC 10, you’ll meet some of the staff, you’ll get a look behind the scenes at what’s going on, and you’ll find out how you can be a part of it.
