Downtown Escanaba Internet Goes Wireless

Downtown Escanaba businesses are getting a boost from the city’s wireless Internet capability.

Laptop users have been able to log onto the free system for almost a month.

In March, Escanaba’s downtown area went completely wireless.

Anyone can access the free service for 4 hours every 24 hours.

The Downtown Development Authority says the wireless Internet service has been well-received among businesses so far.

DDA co-director Cori Triest says that thanks to DSTech of Escanaba, it was fairly simple to set up.

It’s also possible to buy a wireless Internet plan for unlimited access in the downtown.

Triest says packages start at $15 per month.
