3 Months in Jail for Cancer Fundraising Theft

The Gladstone woman who stole from the family of a girl fighting cancer goes to jail for 3 months.

In February, 35-year-old Debra Golzynski admitted to larceny by conversion of $1,000 to $20,000.

Golzynski stole money that she’d raised for Taytem Drossard, a 12-year-old Gladstone girl whose brain cancer is far enough into remission to allow her to return to school.

There was a fundraiser last fall in Gladstone to help offset medical and travel costs for the girl’s family.

Golzynski was collecting the money for that, and she used $1,200 of it to pay her own mortgage.

She has since repaid that money.
