Fatal Car-vs.-Train Crash
A Green Bay man is dead tonight after his car gets hit by a train.
State Police from the Stephenson Post say it happened in Daggett at about 9 Central time this morning.
62-year-old David Jussila of Green Bay was driving on Menominee County Road 358 and crossed onto some railroad tracks.
Lights and sound warnings were present and working at the time.
But a southbound train hit Jussila’s vehicle on the driver’s side.
He died at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette, Wisconsin.
Menominee County Sheriff’s deputies, a State Police accident reconstruction expert and Daggett Township firefighters were among those who helped out at the scene.
