Woman Wanted in Kingsford Bank Robbery

Police in Dickinson County are looking into a bank robbery in Kingsford.

It happened shortly before 1 Central time this afternoon at the Range Bank branch on Carpenter Avenue.

At one point, Kingsford Public Safety and police from several other agencies, including a SWAT team, surrounded the bank.

Several women who may have been bank employees were released from the back door.

They had their hands up.

After they were searched and cleared, they went into a nearby church.

Carpenter Avenue was blocked off in front of the bank from Miller Florists to ShopKo.

Police also blocked off the exits of nearby stores and locked down Kingsford High School for a while as a precaution.

They’re looking for a woman in connection with the robbery.

The suspect is described at 5’10” to 6′ tall with a thin build.

She was said to be wearing sweatpants and to be with a male companion.

They may be traveling in a silver or gray 2002 Pontiac Bonneville.

It appears the money was in a black backpack that was inside of a Wal-Mart bag.
