HOUGHTON, Mich. — The Michigan Tech women’s basketball team continues to rank in the nation’s top five according the USA TODAY/ESPN Division II Coaches’ Poll. For the third straight week, the Huskies are fifth in the poll.
Tech won both of its games last week to improve to 14-1 overall and 9-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Huskies came back from 19 points down to defeat Hillsdale 78-74 in overtime Thursday (Jan. 14). They then knocked off Findlay 82-70 on Saturday (Jan. 16).
The nation’s top five remained unchanged from a week ago. The four teams ahead of Michigan Tech in the poll are Franklin Pierce, Delta State, Indianapolis and Gannon—all of whom are undefeated.
Tech will play its next four games on the road. This week, the Huskies travel to Saginaw Valley State for a Thursday (Jan. 21) game and Lake Superior State for a Saturday (Jan. 23) contest.
