Marquette County Money for New Police Cars
Marquette County gets federal financial help to replace some well-worn police vehicles.
The county has just received 4 grants worth $30,000 in all.
The Department of Agriculture came up with the money through the Community Facility Grant Program.
3 of the grants are each worth $8,000.
Those will help cover the cost of 3 new Sheriff’s Department patrol cars.
Their fleet vehicles each get driven about 50,000 miles a year.
The last grant is worth $6,000, and that’ll help buy a new multi-purpose unmarked police vehicle.
Administrative staff will use that one for local duty and undercover investigations.
