National Guard soldiers based out of Calumet will be home in time for Thanksgiving.
The Guard says the soldiers from the 107th Engineer Battalion will be back in Calumet next Tuesday.
There’s a welcome-home celebration for them set for 11:30 that morning at the Calumet-Laurium-Keweenaw School gym.
But that may change based on their return flight.
About 120 soldiers from the battalion’s 1431st Sapper Company served a year in Afghanistan.
Once again, the best news of all is that everyone who deployed with the unit a year ago will be coming home safely.
