Cloverland Co-Op Members Approve Buyout

Members of a Chippewa County utility co-op say yes to a planned buyout of a competitor.

Cloverland Electric Co-Op is based in Dafter.

The company recently said it’s reached a deal to buy Edison Sault Electric from WE Energies.

Co-op members got to vote on the sale last night, and they’ve overwhelmingly approved it.

Federal regulators still have to approve the sale.

If they do, the deal should be complete by the middle of next year.
