Salvation Army Dusting Off Kettles & Ringing Bells

Thanksgiving is still 2 weeks away.

But an annual holiday-season tradition starts up for the year tomorrow.

The Salvation Army is sending out bell-ringers for the first time this season to raise money for the non-profit group.

So far, the Ishpeming Salvation Army has filled about 20% of its 2-hour shifts that run through Christmas Eve.

This marks the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

Last year, the Ishpeming location raised about $22,000, and they’re aiming a little higher this year.

Capt. Chris Marques says they’re shooting for $23,000 this time.
