Keweenaw Boil-Water Advisory Lifted

The boil-water advisory is finally lifted for hundreds of people in the Keweenaw.

Michigan American Water had one in place since Monday.

They had a water main break Monday morning on Copper City Road in Calumet Township, just east of US-41.

The break affected people in Copper City, Ahmeek, Mohawk, Fulton and both Old and New Allouez.

It was about 750 customers in all.

They’ve had water service fully working again since Monday night.

But the company says since then, it had to flush out the water system and run tests on water from the area to make sure it meets quality standards.
