Crystal Falls Suspends City Manager
A city manager in the southern U.P. is suspended from his job, and he may not be allowed to come back.
Crystal Falls City Manager Chuck Nordeman has been suspended, effective immediately, with pay.
Nordeman has 2 weeks to ask for a public hearing about it.
Last night, the City Council voted 3-2 to suspend him over what they claim are money issues.
The resolution they approved says Crystal Falls has been led down a path to the city’s financial deterioration.
Besides the suspension, the paperwork also proposes that Nordeman be fired from the job.
The City Council is getting together again tonight to talk about, and possibly even appoint, an interim city manager.
