Annual Labor Day Festival in Ishpeming

Union groups and community member from Marquette County came out to celebrate at the 20th Annual Labor Day Festival in Ishpeming.

The nice weather and many people having the day off, brought a good turnout to the festival.

A parade kicked off the festival, where many local union members walked and made floats.

This year’s theme is “Twenty Years of Fighting for All.”

It celebrates the festival’s anniversary and the Council’s voice for working families of Marquette County.

After the parade, people gathered for a picnic and rally near Lake Bancroft Park.

The day included mine tours, children’s activities, music from the Fast Eddies Blues Band, and appearances by local officials.

This year’s parade marshall is former State Representative Rich Brown, who’s the current Clerk of the Michigan House.
