U.P. Veteran of the Year
Also at the state fair today, a Delta County man is honored for his dedication to serving the country.
The governor gave William LaMarch of Escanaba this year’s U.P. Veteran of the Year award.
He received the award with pride, surrounded by loved ones and friends.
LaMarch served in the Marine Corps.
He says he had a bad experience when he returned home from war, so he works to make sure no one else does.
LaMarch started giving back to the community by donating blood.
He’s given 22 gallons over the years, and his involvement has evolved and expanded ever since.
