New Hancock Middle School On Schedule
The new school year is coming up fast.
But middle school students and staff in Hancock are much more excited about the day classes start up again after the winter break.
The new Hancock Middle School is under construction next door to the high school.
It’s on schedule for completion by December 15th.
Monica Healy is both the middle school principal and Hancock’s school superintendent.
She says it means students and faculty will be moving into the new classrooms on January 4th, the first day back from winter vacation.
An $8.8 million bond is paying for the construction.
The project also includes a new practice field for the football team and upgrades to the elementary school.
