Portage Health Opening Houghton Clinic
Portage Health in Hancock is closer to adding a much-needed extension.
The hospital will open a new Express Care Center on Sharon Avenue in Houghton this fall.
It’ll be in what was, until last month, the Blockbuster Video store.
Portage Health bought the 6,000-square-foot building in late July.
The goal is to accomodate more patients with illnesses or injuries that aren’t serious enough to merit an emergency room visit.
Portage Health officials also believe the space will provide faster treatment to better fit people’s daily schedules.
