Ex-Girlfriend of Hunter Murderer Going to Jail

A northern Wisconsin woman whose ex-boyfriend is in prison for a widely-publicized 2007 murder is now going to jail herself.

23-year-old Dacia James of Marinette will serve 6 months behind bars for aiding a felon.

She’ll also serve 3 years of probation once she gets out and work 200 hours of community service.

James once dated James Nichols of Peshtigo, who’s serving 69 years in prison.

He killed Cha Vang of Green Bay in January 2007 at the Peshtigo Wildlife Area.

Several people, including police, testified at Nichols’ trial that he harbored a prejudice against the Hmong people.

Vang was a Hmong immigrant originally from Laos.

Dacia James was accused of helping Nichols get rid of his shotgun the day he murdered Vang.

She pleaded no contest.
