Ishpeming High School goes into lockdown for a little while this morning during an armed standoff at a home nearby.
It happened shortly after 9 this morning at a home on the 100 block of East Superior Street.
That’s about 2 blocks away from both the high school and Central Elementary School.
Police believed a man with a gun was inside the home, and they say the man threatened them with the firearm.
A woman and 2 children left the house shortly after the police got there.
The suspect came out of the house on his own, at about 10am.
Police arrested him without incident.
The high school and Central School were both locked down for nearly half an hour as a precaution.
