Pink Power to Fight Breast Cancer

Saturday night, the Gwinn community got together to help 8 ladies walk towards a cure for breast cancer.

It was a night of good times and good food for a good reason.

The Forsyth Township Fire Department, Boy Scouts from Troop 333 and many more came out to help raise money for the 8-woman U.P. Pink Power Group.

In order to participate in Chicago’s 39-miles-in-2-days Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, the U.P. Pink Power group needs to raise more than $14,000.

With Saturday’s turnout, the dinner was definitely a success.

Although many came to support the ladies, it was the cause that hit home for others.

When Pink Power walks in June, they’ll remember who they’re walking for and how grateful they are for those who stood by their side.

Altogether, the U.P. Pink Power group raised more than $5,000 from the pasta dinner.

If you might still like to help the ladies, you can still log onto the Avon Walk website — www.walkavonfoundation.org .
