Finlandia Buys Hancock Middle School

The Hancock school system has a buyer for the old middle school.

BUt it’ll take Finlandia University 12 years to complete the sale.

Finlandia is getting the middle school building and Condon Field.

In exchange, Hancock students will get Finlandia tuition aid for 12 years.

Each Hancock student who’s admitted to Finlandia will be able to get up to $17,000.

The total price will come out to around $4.2 million.

A new middle school is under construction next door to the high school.

It’s expected to be ready for students to move in by the fall of 2010.

The Hancock schools will still be able to use Condon Field after Finlandia takes it over.

The univesity is also planning improvements there, like putting in new turf.
