Norway Firefighters Battle Both Fire & Ice
Mother Nature plays havoc with the effort to put out a house fire in Dickinson County this morning.
It happened a little before 7 this morning Central time at River Road and Hamilton Lakes Road in Vulcan.
The Norway Fire Department says the house is a total loss.
There aren’t any hydrants in the area.
Crews from Breitung Township had to bring in a tanker, and the firefighters used a pool of water to fight the flames.
The frigid temperatures, more than 10 degrees below zero at the time, froze that pool of water several different times.
The family took shelter inside the garage.
No one was hurt in that blaze.
