State police from the Iron River post are releasing the name of the man who died in yesterday’s house fire in Caspian.
It was 58-year-old Richard Taylor, and they say he owned the property.
The fire started shortly after midnight Central time at 71 Lawrence Street in Caspian.
The house was fully involved in flames when crews got there, with the second floor having already caved into the first floor.
It took about 12 hours for firefighters to clear the scene.
Besides Taylor, there was also a witness in the house when the fire started.
That person’s name is not being released.
But state police, the state fire marshal and local fire crews are talking to that witness.
