Gladstone Doctor Still Waiting for License Ruling

The state was supposed to have a decision by now about a Gladstone doctor’s medical license.

However, his professional future is still unclear.

The Michigan Department of Community Health is still reviewing 47-year-old Erik Rubright’s medical license.

Rubright pleaded no contest 2 months ago to attempting to maintain a drug house, which is a misdemeanor.

If it were a felony, his license would automatically be suspended.

He’s spending a year on probation and working 250 hours community service.

State police say Rubright knew for years that his wife was using and selling drugs in their home but did nothing to stop her.

The MCDH’s Health Regulatory Division has the power to suspend or even revoke Rubright’s license after finishing its review.
