Thanksgiving Baskets for Harbor House

A local service group is lifting the spirits of folks at a local shelter by making sure they’ll get to enjoy a hearty meal on Thanksgiving.

The Marquette West Rotary Club is coordinating a donation drive.

They’re putting together Thanksgiving dinner baskets for the Harbor House domestic violence shelter, and the drive doesn’t just end when the holidays do.

They’ll also try to collect items like small appliances and linens that Harbor House residents might need upon leaving the shelter.

Rotary Club members donated some of the food items for the baskets.

They raised money over the last 3 weeks to buy others, and they’re using proceeds from the Seafood Festival from the summer to pay for the rest.

The drive will make sure everyone staying at Harbor House can have a turkey, all of the traditional fixings and a box filled with other groceries.
