Suspended School Superintendent
More information is starting to come out about the recent suspension of a U.P. school superintendent.
Richard Burby has the top job with the West Iron County schools in Iron River.
The school board says concerns over district management and leadership are what led to his suspension 3 weeks ago.
The board is starting to gather information about how he handles those aspects of his job.
It should take them until after the holidays to get the information they’re after.
They won’t have a report ready until at least mid-January.
The board members will consider their options after that.
Burby is suspended with pay.
He’s been barred from entering any school buildings or accessing the district’s computer network.
West Iron County High School principal Chris Thomson is serving as acting superintendent.
