Huron Mountain Club Camp Break-Ins

The latest in a string of hunting camp break-ins in Powell Township leads to an arrest on Halloween.

The break-ins have all happened inside the gates of the Huron Mountain Club.

The sheriff’s office says the break-ins stretch back to late September.

The 2 latest break-ins were reported Friday at the club in Big Bay.

Guns were stolen from both camps.

Deputies and the club’s own security detail found a person of interest who was living and working on club property.

They found more than 20 stolen guns, from those camps and others, in his temporary home.

There was also an outstanding warrant against him for 2nd-degree home invasion.

They’ve arrested him on that warrant, and they’re keeping him in the Marquette County Jail while the investigation continues.
