County Looking at Elected Officials’ Salaries

With Election Day a week away, the Marquette County Board is looking at how much money county-level elected officials earn.

Every 4 years, right before it’s time to go to the polls, the board looks at what elected officials will be paid during their terms in office.

In Marquette County, the salaries are based on studies of what other Michigan counties of similar size, with similar finances, are doing.

The county board is having a regular meeting at 6 in the county courthouse annex, like they usually do.

Once that’s over, they’re having a special meeting there about the pay issue.
