Prelim Exam for Marquette Teacher

A Marquette teacher will be back in court sometime soon on charges that he had sexual relations with a female student.

49-year-old Kevin Wilson had his preliminary exam this afternoon on 2 counts of 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The judge found probable cause that a crime had been committed.

Wilson’s next step is an arraignment in circuit court, and there’s no date set for that yet.

Both charges are said to date from 1996, and they relate to the same alleged victim, a girl who was between 13 and 16 years old at the time.

Wilson worked for the Marquette Area Public Schools for 20 years.

He was teaching at Bothwell Middle School until a month ago.

That’s when school officials placed Wilson on unpaid leave from the classroom.

He’s in the Marquette County Jail on $100,000 bond on each charge.
