Health Care Conference on Expressing Grief
Marquette General Hospital hosts a conference to honor life in a different way, through the different ways that different people express grief.
The ‘Healing from Loss’ conference was based on the various ways people express grief, primarily men.
The majority of men don’t follow the traits of what are commonly thought to be signs of grief.
Instead, they tend to do the opposite.
Author and therapist Tom Golden pointed out there’s no right or wrong way of dealing with grief, so all expressions should be accepted.
Women tend to connect with others, while men often isolate themselves.
By accepting the various expressions of grief, relationships can grow stronger.
The conference was open to health care professionals from anywhere in the U.P.
