McCain Supporters Busing Across America

One of the candidates for president appears to have a widening lead.

However, supporters of the other major candidate want to remind people the levers at the voting booths haven’t been pulled just yet.

A group of John McCain supporters is crossing the country by bus, trying to draw last-minute interest in the Republican nominee.

They set off from Sacramento, California last week on a 2-week swing across the lower 48 states.

Their route brought them to downtown Marquette this afternoon.

Getting the support they’re after may be a tall order.

National polls have Democrat Barack Obama with a 10-to-12-point lead less than 2 weeks before Election Day.

Still, McCain supporters say there are signs for optimism, with McCain drawing even with Obama in Nevada since their bus stop in that state.

The tour bus is visiting Sault Ste. Marie tonight for a similar event there.

It’ll make stops in Alpena and Traverse City tomorrow on its way to Washington, D.C.
