Rebuilding Peter White Steps

Steps are underway to building a new set of stairs outside Marquette’s library.

The bottom set of steps leading to the Peter White Library is demolished for now.

However, workers are starting the job that’ll make a new set of limestone steps.

The top set of steps is around 100 years old and has outlasted the bottom steps, which were made of concrete.

The new steps should not only last, but will also match the historic exterior.

The $100,000 project is expected to be finished by the end of November.
