Habitat Getting New Re-Store Ready

Copper Country Habitat for Humanity spent much of the year trying to find a new, larger home for their Re-Store.

Now they have a place, but they need to fill it up.

In August, Habitat bought the old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Calumet.

It should be opening within the next 2 weeks or so.

Their first choice was a building on 5th Street in Calumet, but the owner changed his mind about selling it.

The Re-Stores sell construction supplies, household appliances and furniture.

Habitat says the Re-Stores also help conservation efforts because if the items in them weren’t donated, many of them would be thrown away.

Besides items to sell, the Re-Store could use some financial donations to renovate the former church.

Habitat also wants to buy a moving van to pick up items that people may want to donate.
