Biggest Gift in Michigan Tech History
Michigan Tech is in line for a $10 million gift, the largest single donation the school has ever received.
Dave House is a Michigan Tech grad, and he’s pledged $10 million to the school.
The money will help recruit and retain top-notch graduate and research faculty, as well as deans and department chairs.
House was a longtime executive at Intel, and he’s a retired former president of Nortel Networks.
He’s running a national fundraising campaign at the school which is in its early stages.
House is no stranger to large donations to his alma mater.
A charitable foundation he set up has already endowed 2 professorships there, and another gift from the foundation was what allowed the school to buy the Michigan Tech Research Institute in Ann Arbor 2 years ago.
Word of House’s latest gift came out of Michigan Tech’s Board of Control meeting, which took place this morning.
