MARQUETTE — Iron Mountain swingman Carson Wonders announced last night on his Twitter account that he has committed to playing for Northern Michigan in 2017. Wonders says he is happy to be able to make the decision before the start of his senior year.

“It’s a huge weight off my shoulders for one thing. I can go through this year just looking forward to that, instead of wondering what am I going to do or where am I going to go and trying to make a decision. It’s all said and done here so all I have to do is concentrate on having fun and getting better,” Wonders said.

Wonders is coming off a stellar junior campaign where he was named the Mid–Pen Conference Player of the Year, as well as earning a spot on the All–U.P. Dream Team. He feels like his skill set will transition well into the college game.

“Well I’m obviously going to have to work hard. I’m not going to be more athletic than anyone else. So I’m definitely going to have to outwork everyone and do all the dirty work and the little things right. Hopefully that’s enough to get me on the roster and get me out on the floor,” said Wonders.

Wonders is the first Class of 2017 signing for the Wildcats.
