Woman Struck by Vehicle

A woman is in critical condition after being struck by a pickup truck in Ishpeming.
The Ishpeming Police Department says the driver who hit her was driving with a suspended license.

The accident happened just after noon today on North Third Street, near the entrance to the National Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame.

A 50–year–old Ely Township man was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck.
shortly after leaving the Holiday Gas Station, he struck a 64–year–old woman from National Mine who was crossing the street.
the woman needed surgery at Marquette General Hospital and is listed in critical condition there.
The driver was arrested for driving on a denied or revoked license, causing serious injury.
that’s a five–year felony.

The man is being held in the Marquette County jail.
His name, and the name of the woman he hit, are not available.
the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department and the Ishpeming Fire Department both assisted at the scene.
