NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP — One woman was taken to the hospital after a two-car collision in Negaunee Township Tuesday evening.
Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Post say the accident happened around 7:00 p.m. near the intersection of US-41 and Midway Drive. Thirty-year-old Joshua Gravelyn of Negaunee was traveling southeast on Midway toward the intersection of US-41 when he crossed the center line on a slight curve before the intersection, striking the car driven by 42-year-old Billie Heggaton, also of Negaunee.
Heggaton was turning onto Midway drive at the time of the accident. She was transported to UP Health System – Marquette via ambulance for treatment of injuries. Her two juveniile passengers were not injured.
All of the parties involved in the crash were wearing their seat belts. Gravelyn, who was alone in his vehicle, was cited for driving left of center.
State Police troopers were assisted at the scene by the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department, UP Health System EMS, Negaunee Township Fire Department, Negaunee Township First Responders, and Antilla’s Towing.
