Woman reports stabbing, doesn’t remember doing it

An Ironwood woman is now lodged at the Gogebic County Jail after reporting herself as a suspect in a stabbing incident that she doesn’t remember.

The Ironwood Public Safety Department received a call regarding a domestic incident where a male had been stabbed around 12:11 a.m. this morning. The female caller reported she was the suspect, but she did not remember stabbing anyone. The adult female was then arrested and charged with one count of attempted assault on a Police Officer and one count of a minor in possession of alcohol. Prescription pills and alcohol were involved and believed to be a factor in the incident.

The adult male victim was transported to Aspirus Grand View Hospital by Beacon Ambulance, where he was treated and released. He was subsequently charged with one count of a minor in possession of alcohol.

Both individuals are lodged at the Gogebic County Jail. There names will be released following arraignments. Full reports of the incident were sent to the Gogebic County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review. More charges are pending.

The Ironwood Public Safety Department was assisted on the scene by Michigan State Police units and a Hurley, Wisconsin unit.
