Woman needing heart transplant supports organ donation

A fund-raising event is coming up Sunday for a Big Bay woman who needs a heart transplant.

Judy Parrish is a breast cancer survivor, but medications she took in her battle against that disease five years ago have weakened her heart.  It now is only operating at a ten percent level.

Her neighbors and friends in northern Marquette County are rallying around her.
www.letskeepherheartbeating.com is a clearing house of information on Judy, seeks donations and is selling shirts to raise money.   An account  has been established at Wells Fargo:   3220 U.S. 41 West,  Marquette, MI 49855   (Account #  8354897251)

The Powell Township Ambulance Service will be holding a benefit dinner for the Parrish Family Sunday, November 4, from 4 PM until 7 PM at the Fire/Ambulance Hall in Big Bay.

While Judy waits for the heart transplant, she’s urging others to consider organ donation. She is in line with the Department of State and its’ goal to decrease the number of people waiting for a transplant. You can help by adding your name to the Michigan Organ Donor Registry.
