Woman Jailed on Bogus Sex Assault Claim

An Iron Mountain woman is in jail in Wisconsin on charges that she falsely accused 3 western U.P. men of sexually assaulting her.

44-year-old Tamra Coyne is charged with 3 felony counts each of false imprisonment and false swearing.

She also faces 3 counts each of defamation of character and obstructing an officer.

Those are both misdemeanors in Wisconsin.

She’s in the Iron County, Wisconsin jail on $20,000 bond.

Coyne claimed the sexual assault happened on the Silver Street Bridge in Jurley on August 13th.

Police arrested 2 men from Bessemer and another from Ironwood on her accusations.

The charges against the 3 of them have since been dismissed.
