Woman enters plea over illegal credit card use

MARQUETTE — A woman entered her plea today for the illegal use of a credit card. ABC 10’s Sarah Mac brings us the details from Marquette County Circuit Court.

Twenty–year–old Whitney Wirkula of Gwinn pleaded guilty in Marquette County Circuit Court Friday morning to one count of illegal use or sale of a financial transaction device.

Wirkula said in Court, “In October of 2015, I did use the financial transaction device without permission?”

Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi asked, “Was it a credit card?”

To which Wirukla replied, “Yes.”

As a result of the plea agreement, a second charge of illegal use or sale of a financial transaction device and one charge of larceny in a building will be dropped. As part of the agreement, Wirkula will be considered for sentencing under the Holmes Youthful Trainee Act.

Sentencing is set for April 1st.
