Woman ejected from vehicle in Dickinson Co. crash

An elderly woman was ejected from a vehicle after the vehicle she was riding in crashed into an embankment in Dickinson County.

Troopers from the Iron Mountain Post of the Michigan State Police say the accident occurred around 4 p.m. CST at the intersection of M-95 and M-69 East in Sagola Township.

An investigation revealed Russell Westman, 59, of Iron River, drove through the intersection westbound.  He drove into a ditch, over an embankment, and came to a rest west of the adjacent railroad tracks.

His passenger, Grace Westman, 79, was ejected from the vehicle.  The pair was taken Dickinson County Memorial Hospital and treated for their injuries.
