The entire Upper Peninsula is under a winter weather advisory tonight.

Staff at the National Weather Service station in Negaunee Township say the heavy, wet snow, sleet and freezing rain the U.P. has seen for much of Sunday will continue through Monday night.

Roads are quickly becoming covered with snow, ice or both, and forecasters say the heavy, wet nature of the precipitation will make removal difficult.

Chippewa County and Mackinac County are under an advisory until 4 am Monday.

Alger County, Delta County, Luce County, Menominee County and Schoolcraft County have one in effect until until 6 am Central time Monday, or 7 am Eastern time.

Dickinson County and Iron County have an advisory until 10 am Central time Monday.

The advisory for Baraga County, southern Houghton County and Marquette County is in effect until 7 pm Monday.

Northern Houghton County, Gogebic County, Keweenaw County and Ontonagon County have the longest-lasting advisory; theirs doesn’t expire until midnight Central time Tuesday, or 1 am Eastern time Tuesday.
