UPDATE:

According to the Negaunee Post of the Michigan State Police, as of 3 p.m. Thursday, M-28 in Marquette and Alger Counties has re-opened.

———————————————————————

Significantly reduced visibility has led to the closure of M-28 between Marquette and Munising.

Troopers from the Negaunee Post of the Michigan State Police say that the road was closed at around 4:00 a.m. due to white out conditions caused by high winds and blowing snow. M-94 remains open as an alternate route.

State Police and County Road Commissions are monitoring conditions to decide when the road can be re-opened, but there is currently no estimate of when this will happen.
