Wind Storm Power Outages Continue

The fall storm that continues to wreak havoc across the East Coast is still being felt in the upper Peninsula.

High winds have been common place again today, and along with downed trees come power outages.

Every county in the central U.P. is being affected.

UPPCO says about 10% of its customers are, or have been, without electricity.

Company officials say they’re making some headway in restoring power this evening.

Cloverland Electric reports widespread outages throughout its service area, which includes Schoolcraft, Luce, Chippewa and Mackinac counties.

That outage is affecting about 7,000 homes and businesses.
