Wildcats ready for postseason push

MARQUETTE – The defending GLIAC Women’s Basketball Tournament champs will begin their title defense in two days time on the road at Grand Valley State University.

Northern Michigan University lost to the Lakers twice in the regular season. Both games were decided by a combined eleven points.

The Wildcats need a victory against the Lakers to increase their chances of making the NCAA tournament. Right now, NMU is on the wrong side of the bubble. A win against the Lakers would certainly help their odds of making the big dance.

If Wednesday’s game comes down to the charity stripe, the Wildcats had the second best free throw percentage in the nation this season at 80.4%. Tip-off from Allendale begins at 7 p.m.
