MARQUETTE — The Northern Michigan men’s basketball team had a weekend full of peaks and valleys. After losing on a last–second shot to Tiffin on Saturday, the Wildcats put on a solid performance on Sunday at the Berry Events Center.
NMU knocked off Ohio Dominican 75–71, despite leading by as many as 23 in the first half. Jordan Perez led the Wildcats in scoring with 17. Marcus Hall finished with a strong game, pouring in 15 points. Freshman Isaiah Johnson stepped up big time in this one with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Afterwards, Coach Bill Sall praised the team’s all around effort.
“Everybody contributed. This is a nice stat sheet to see…when every player that played scores for you and also gets a rebound. That’s huge. Rebounding advantage tonight was 47–31 that we out rebounded them. We need to continue to do those sorts of things and those are the effort plays that we need to see continue as we go down this stretch,” Sall said.
NMU will be back on the court on the road Thursday against Ashland.
