MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University hockey team trailed 5-3 midway through the second period Friday night against No. 14 Bowling Green, only to rally with two unanswered goals to end the game in a 5-5 tie.

Brock Maschmeyer scored two goals for the Wildcats. Shane Sooth, Sami Salminen, and Gerard Hanson had the other goals for NMU. Brandon Hawkins and Ben Grenier each had two goals for the Falcons.

Mathias Dahlstrom stopped 37 shots in net for the Wildcats. Tommy Burke made 28 saves between the pipes for BGSU.

The Wildcats and Falcons will wrap up their two-game series Saturday night at 7:07 p.m.
