Wildcat X-C runners named to Midwest Team

MARQUETTE, Mich. — Northern Michigan University freshman Kameron Burmeister and junior Megan Edic were named All-Midwest Region after finishing in the top 25 of the NCAA Division II Midwest Region Championship Saturday.

Burmeister was the top Wildcats finisher in 16th place with a time of 21:31 in one of the toughest fields in the country.

Edic finished just 13-seconds later (21:44) in 22nd place.

Earlier this year Burmeister was also the Wildcats top finisher at the GLIAC Championships finishing 10th with a time of 21:11.3, earning her First Team All-GLIAC. Edic was the second Wildcat finisher, in 18th place at 21:32.9, earning Second Team All-Conference.

The Wildcats finished sixth in the region as a team out of 30 schools competing at the Midwest Region Championship. Five out of the top six teams in the region were GLIAC schools.
