NMU men’s b-ball falls at Ashland
The Northern Michigan University men’s basketball team fell 72-56 at Ashland to the Eagles on Thursday night. The loss ended NMU’s two game conference winning streak.
Justin Newell led the Wildcats with 15 points. Chavis Mattison had 11 points and 8 rebounds for NMU. The Wildcats trailed 30-28 at the end of the first half, but the Eagles outscored NMU 42-28 in the second half to pull away for the victory.
The Wildcats (3-8, 2-5 GLIAC) are next in action on Saturday, Jan. 11 at Lake Erie against the Storm. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
